For the little story, here is the legend of the Nutcracker: an embittered peasant was looking for a way to break his nuts without effort and offered a reward to the one who would answer his request. An old sculptor made him a figure designed to break the nuts. The peasant was so excited about the figure that his heart softened. It is said that the nutcracker had also broken the bark of his heart... The exact definition of the term "nutcracker" is given by the Brothers Grimm in 1830: " small deformed man, in whose mouth the nuts are broken, by means of a lever or a screw ". These figurines represent gendarmes, hussars, but also more famous characters like Bismarck or Napoleon after his defeat at the battle of Leipzig. It is also this same figurine of dancer which is in the middle of the fairy ballet of Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski and which takes life the time of a dream the night of the Christmas Eve.
