Preparation for tart shells

We love the fact that the preparations can be used for so many different kinds of treats. Those must-have preparations that you always want to have in your pantry, because they take you a long way. FunCakes Cookie and Pie Base Mix is definitely one of them. It can be used for crispy doughs for pies, such as apple pie. The mixture gives volume during baking and is just the right base for your pies. It goes very well with almond paste to give it an even richer taste. You can also use it for cookies and pastries. For example, filled cookies with jam or pastries with fruit on top.

Preparation: Combine 500 g mix, 155 g butter and 1 egg (50 g). Knead into a firm dough and refrigerate for approx. 1 hour. For cookies: Roll out dough to approx. 3 mm thickness and cut out shapes. Bake for approx. 12 minutes at 180°C (convection oven 160°C). For the apple tart: roll out the dough to approx. 5 mm thickness, coat a springform tin (22-24 cm) with the dough and fill with 1 kg apple pieces mixed with a little cinnamon and sugar. Place a grid of pastry strips over the apples and coat with beaten egg. Bake for approx. 50 minutes at 170°C (convection oven 150°C).
