The dealer distributes 9 cards to each, three at a time. The player who has the 7 of diamonds is the one who chooses the trump, during the first deal and starts the game. For other deals, it will be the player to the right of the dealer who will choose. Partners from the same team can both announce the trump.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe player who has the lead then plays his first card, the one to his right will do the same and so on. Be careful, players must play a card of the same suit as the one who has the lead. He announces that he cannot follow if he doesn't have one and plays a different card. A player can trump, in other words play a card of the trump suit when the player who had the lead started with another suit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut if a player has already trumped, he is not allowed to undertrump, that is to say play a trump of lower value than the one previously played, unless he has no other cards left.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA player who has the trump jack is not obliged to play it, even if the base suit of the trick is trump and it's the only card of that suit remaining in his hand. The player who played either the highest trump wins the trick for his team.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe collects it and the points that constitute it are immediately attributed to the team. He takes the lead and plays the first card of the next trick. When players have no more cards, the round ends. The team winning the last trick gets 5 additional points (Cinq de der). The player to the right of the current dealer becomes the new dealer for the next round.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the end of each round, teams record their number of points in a very particular way.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePoint counting in Jass\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe scoresheet is divided into two parts, one for each team. Points are recorded on 3 lines, as follows: the top line consists of ticks each worth 100 points, the middle one\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003econsists of crosses, a half-cross worth 50 points and a full cross 100 points, then the bottom line which consists of ticks of 20 points. Units are noted on the right by adding or subtracting them. It is easier to record points after each announcement than at the end of the round. Players thus add their points progressively.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eTHE WINNER IS:\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe game ends when a team has scored 1,000 points.
